Building Resiliency for Caregivers

Description

Caring for children who have experienced trauma can be emotionally demanding. Over time, caregivers may experience compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, leading to burnout and decreased emotional resilience. This course helps caregivers recognize the effects of chronic stress and provides evidence-based techniques for maintaining mental and physical well-being. Participants will leave with practical skills to strengthen their own resilience, reduce stress, and maintain a strong sense of purpose in their caregiving role.

  • Identify warning signs of vicarious trauma and burnout

  • Explore key areas of physical health and stress management

  • Learn techniques to increase positive emotions and reframe negative thoughts

  • Reflect on the purpose and personal motivation behind their caregiving role
