Psychotic Disorders

Strategies that help before and during psychotic episodes

Description

Psychotic disorders are among some of the most difficult to understand in the whole spectrum of mental health. Psychotic symptoms, while disturbing, are part of the human experience and to some degree most people will experience one or more of them during their lifetime. This normalization of the symptoms is essential to developing empathy and understanding toward the people who are affected by these devastating conditions. This paradigm of thought also reveals the best way to interact and help these same people. This class looks at some best practices for helping someone experiencing a psychotic episode.
