Supporting people through depressive and manic episodes

Description

Bipolar Disorder is a common, but likely underdiagnosed mental health condition with a high correlation with suicide and other health problems. It presents multiple contradictory symptoms and often occurs with other mental health problems and substance use. This class offers ways to better work with the person to identify symptoms earlier and together make prevention and intervention plans.

  • Identify different symptoms and behaviors associated with bipolar disorders

  • Distinguish types of Bipolar Disorder based on symptom patterns

  • Identify practices and treatments that help prevent a manic/depressive episode
