Repair and Restoration after Conflict

Description

This course focuses on the final step in conflict resolution, which is the ability to broker a resolution between those involved in the conflict and provide you with the tools to restore the relationship.  It begins with understanding the steps required to find a mutually acceptable resolution, and approach resolution in a way that also keeps the relationship intact.  Exercising these tools, you will be better prepared to collaboratively create solutions the next time a conflict or disagreement arises, as it will be easier to resolve the conflict directly while engaging in difficult conversations.

Learning Objectives

Leaders will develop skills to conduct productive conversations to foster the resolution collaboratively by:

  • Understanding how to prepare for and engage in a difficult conversation
  • Developing a systematic approach to repair relationships and rebuild trust after conflict
  • Identifying common situations that can derail relationships and foster intractable conflict
